The Last of the 2021 Dala Horses

Creating new Dala Horses is a bit of a celebration for me because it can only be done when my hands are in good enough shape for me to be able to manage it.
We all create from a different source of inspiration, or we should. If your inspiration is just making money you are bound to be disappointed in this work.

This last time I didn't do as many horses but I enjoyed it more. That's the best one can be hoped for don't you think so.

This is a simple design but one of my favorites this season.

One of the first things you'll notice about my work is that they never turn out the same on both sides. I think that is really kind of my trademark because me ideas are always evolving and I never really do things the same way twice. Love it or hate it that's the way I roll and it makes me happy which is the whole reason that I paint anyway.

Even when I draw them out first I just keep adding bits to the design so they never quite match.

There are still I have a few photos to add here so be sure to come back and see them.

This dark blue one was one of the few ornaments that I actually carved to give it the cute round tummy and make it feel so good in your hand. I have a lot of trouble with my hands these days as many of the rest of you do these days so I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

It's been so nice to get back to the dala horses that I can't wait to see what I'll come up with for next year. I have a lot of different ideas and painting styles in mind and think it will be fun to see what happens if I combine them in various ways. Keep on reading and please follow this blog. knowing that there are people out there interested in my work keeps me motivated.
Thanks so much for your encouragement this year.

Have a great Holiday Season
and come back to see me here soon in 2121,

Julia
